Sue,
I hope you have had a nice Xmas and are looking forward to the New year. (I honestly do not care, but I thought I would ease her into the email)
2011 has already thrown up a few surprises, my company is relocating to Brighton (Which is true) and so is my job (Which is not true...) (this was only finalised the week before Xmas, so I have had some time to think about it) – which is a bit annoying as I love living in London (yep, this is true - but not in my flat, for many reasons, 1) Neighbours, 2) No insulation at all - so it is an Icebox, 3) The area - I feel I am always going to get mugged, 4) I am a snob and catford is a hole, 5) It is expensive for what it is...a glorified wet room. 6) It is damp, cold, bits are broken, the doors don't work properly and I am pretty sure that 2B does not exist as a separate dwelling. – but in the current economic climate I fear I have to follow the job to Brighton.
So I would like to give you my period of 2 month notice for the flat – my aim would be to move out by the 1st March 2011. (If not sooner...pleaaaaaase be sooner)
I am at a loss of what to do with the furniture (I am not really, but ideally you'll buy it off me and save me the problem of trying to get rid of it) (as the house I am moving into is already furnished) – so I would like to offer you first refusal on items such (which were all bought new from Ikea) as the sofa bed/stools (for the breakfast bar)/coffee table (otherwise I am going to get a house clearance company in to shift them)…I was aiming to leave the blinds for the kitchen and bathroom windows (if you would like them?) and the curtain pole up over the double doors onto the roof. (so you take any of my deposit I will be VERY annoyed, considering no one had cleaned the place before I moved in)
I am more than happy to help with showing prospective people around the flat, should you need me to – and the flat is always in a tidy state, and I am happy for you to show people round as well (As long as they're not dodge and as long as they do not nick my stuff).
Thank you very much for being such an understanding landlord (understanding in the sense that I have not seen or heard from you in 8 months), and I wish you all the best for 2011.
